Ricky Baldwin was born back in April of 1956.  Parent’s Rose and Henry made some unusual contributions to Ricky’s entry to the world:

Had his birth in a Kentucky farm house, (like Daniel Boone).

Maternal grandmother & midwife Elizabeth, delivered Ricky.

Paternal grandmother Mary bore 20 children, no twins.

On both sides of the family, Ricky enjoyed stories handed down of how “the kids” nearly killed one another as they grew up on Big Creek - the skunks, dogs, poison ivy and pranks they engaged in.  Ricky learned about love, laughter, and story-telling in his two large clans.  Ricky even played high school Football with the nation’s only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, (# 45)!

Too bashful in High School, Ricky didn’t start acting till he was approx 38 years old.  He’d had previous experience teaching adults and children in vocational and social settings, and he used his storytelling abilities to deliver “edge of your seat” lectures as he sprinkled in a punch line every time!  Realizing that as a teacher he was ALSO an entertainer, Ricky decided to join the Professional Entertainment world.

His first role: Alfie Dolittle from “My Fair Lady”, was won by singing Herman’s Hermit’s “Henry the Eighth” in Cockney voice.  Ricky excels in comedy, but enjoyed the huge emotional conflicts in playing Jeff Douglas from “Brigadoon”.  Jeff went from a comic drinker to an accidental killer and Ricky enjoyed that acting challenge to bring change into the character. Ricky has appeared in many children’s shows, often helping raise $200,000 each year for Children’s Hospital.  He’s also enjoyed his TV, Film, and Print appearances across America.  Ricky enjoys everything about entertainment: taking direction, helping others on stage, and connecting with the audience.

Now that he sports a full beard, Ricky enjoys seeking bearded characters like Sea Captains, Bikers, and even Santa Claus, a pretty good role model.

Ricky won several awards at a recent New York IMTA talent convention, including Best Men’s Commercial Print photos, and honorable mention as Best all-round actor, scoring high in Soap Opera, Cold Read, Sit-com, TV Commercial, and more.

Ricky’s enjoying the talent industry with wife Wendy and the grandkids supporting their “Poppy”.
